It seems to have taken America by storm, i wonder if it will have the same success in UK though. It seems that our American neighbours have embraced the whole professional trampolining world a lot more than we have ion Britain. That is understandable though as the weather is very different in the on this continent and it does have a big affect on a variety of sports. I also believe that the population of the UK prefer the more traditional sports that have been cultured over the years. However this is a new exciting sport that hopefully trampoline clubs across the UK will invest in and get the youngsters off the streets. Let me know what you think of this new sport and if it’s going to be any success in the UK.

Happy Trampolining.

The Internet, wow has it really been 36 years since we went online. The world has changed dramatically since then, we have become the google generation. We can explore under the ocean right from our very own desktops, hell i can order a donut from down the road and have it in hand within the hour. We have really taken the bull by the horns and adapted to the new micro chip world.

Online ordering is fantastic though, browse around for a few minutes, locate what you want at the price and done deal. Next day there’s a package waiting at your back door. How has this affected the outdoor toy market though and in particular the trampoline market. Below is an image that displays the market trend for trampolines, what’s interesting is how the shopping peek has been distributed over the rest of the year. Have a look:

The question is, has the Internet changed the way we shop. Or has the trampoline market just got smaller? What’s your thoughts? Has the fashion icon finally lived out its shelf life or have people just turned to electronic entertainment as the new social thing. Or the other question is, do we just buy differently which means that the sales are slowly distributed across the year as people realise that their is no need to do the mad summer rush, but rather make the most of the rest of the year as well. Let us know your thoughts and what you think the year is going to bring, and whether you going to buy/upgrade your trampoline this year?

Happy Trampolining..

When you first get a trampoline, there is always the fear that your children will hurt themselves by falling off. With young children in particular, there is the fear of them running over the edge and older children can always conjure up inventive games to bounce off the trampoline on to the ground or other garden toys.

A trampoline safety enclosure is a good device to help prevent this and put these fears to rest.

Trampoline Safety Enclosures have upright posts which attach at the bottom to the legs of the trampoline. The net hangs from these posts to form a sort of cage to enclose the bouncing area. Surprisingly enough, the net is strong enough and taught enough to stop children from bouncing off the trampoline unintentionally.

The trampoline safety enclosure should not be climbed, nor the netting be jumped on intentionally as this will weaken the structure. The Safety net is ONLY intended to reduce the risk of injury from falling off the trampoline, It cannot be a fail safe device and children should still be supervised at all times when using a trampoline. Never allow more than the recommended number or weight of users to play on the trampoline together and never let children take other toys onto the trampoline with them.

There are 2 styles of safety net: One where the netting sits right around the edge of the trampoline – this allows maximum jumping space inside the enclosure; The other style has netting which fixes at the bottom to the edge of the jumping mat – Some people see these as a better design offering more safety as the pads still offer protection from falling if the safety net were to be breached.

Trampoline Safety Enclosures are availabe to buy from our stores to be delivered nationwide.

This question comes up quite regularly on the phones when we chatting to people and i don’t think people really understand the importance of trampoline pads and the role they play. My colleague has kindly written an article about this and so here we are. Hopefully you will find it interesting and help you with any questions that you may have.

There are many different brands of trampolines available, using different materials and thicknesses of pads. Many cheaper trampolines economise on the pad material and thickness to offer the cheaper price. The top branded trampolines such as Supertramp, TP and Xtreme 360 offer thicker, heavier duty pads. They do this for a reason.

The purpose of pads is to cover the springs of the trampoline. They protect your children if they were to fall on this area of the trampoline. The pads prevent your child’s foot from falling through the gap between the springs. Also, as weight is put on the trampoline bed or springs, the coil of the springs stretch open. If a child catches their skin in the coil, when it re-contracts, it can result in a painful injury.

There are four aspects of the pads to look out for:
1) The type of foam used in the pads
A firmer foam offers better protection, as it will be less likely to give under the weight of a child falling on top of it.
2) The thickness of the foam
Thicker foam has more absorption qualities as there are more layers of air pockets to cushion a fall.
3) The width of the pads.
Wider pads extend further over the top rail of the trampoline and further onto the trampoline bed. This is less likely to result in a child’s foot falling through any gaps.
4) The type of material used to cover the foam.
Quality materials such as rubber or polyester are more durable than PVC or PE. They are less likely to split and expose the foam to the elements, which will in turn erode the foam.

Having said all of this, when a safety net is used with your trampoline, pad thickness can be less important. Some styles of safety enclosure have netting which is attached to the trampoline inside where the pads meet the trampoline jumping area. As a result children are less likely to fall on the pad area. The protection needed by the padding is therefore less important.

The long awaited new website design launch has finally arrived and just in time for Christmas. The new feel allows customers to browse through smoothly and effeciently. Our web design team, Fidelma and Simon have been hard at work behind the scenes trying to get the trampoline website to look and run as smoothly as possible.

Writing a website solely about trampolines is not an easy task, but pulled off well by Fidelma with her university background in design definitely paying off as reflected in her detailed work.Trampolines are a lot more involved than most would think, the design and technology that goes on behind the scenes is surprisingly in depth. Stress and structure testing on the trampoline frames have to be carried out at great lengths to ensure that the trampolines can be used under great stress and still be safe. So you can be reassured that all our trampolines sold on the website are fully safety tested and guaranteed.

We have been the industry for over 10 years now supplying thousands of trampolines all across the UK and have been a market leader and a definitive trampoline specialist company. We proud ourselves in the knowledge that every one of our staff right from the sectary to the warehouse packers and even the sales team surprisingly, are fully trained and expert trampoline enthusiasts who are always available on the phones to answer any of your questions. We hope you enjoy our new website and look forward to your feedback.

Have a look at: Etoyszone The Trampoline Specialists

Ciao
