Can I Leave My Trampoline In The Snow?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

A question asked all over the world by many people, even though we are going to have a dry Christmas in the UK it may still snow in Jan/Feb. Hopefully..

The question is though, can you leave your trampoline out in the snow, and the answer is yes on most models. If you have purchased a decent trampoline brand that has thick durable trampoline pads, the fact is that they are built for all year round use including times when it snows. In fact snow isn’t a problem at all, it’s more frost that actually does damage. So we advise is get out there and have some fun in the snow…

Trampoline Springs Vs Trampoline Elastics

Friday, December 19th, 2008

With the trampoline market ever changing this has been a difficult one and people still ask us from time to time what we think about it. Our conclusion is that we prefer the trampoline springs, they are safer and more robust. They stay bouncy for longer, they are easier to maintain and they are what people are comfortable with. Against the trend we believe that if something works perfectly why change it, enhance it yes. Redesign it? No. The trampoline spring design has been around for a few generations now and there is no sign of that ever changing. A few manufacturers have designed trampolines with the patent elastic technology, but the designs never really took off in the UK.

A testament in itself as to what the public want, they just want something that works, is affordable and looks half decent in their back garden. Needless to say at Etoyszone we only sell the spring version, not saying that we will never move to the spring free design. For now though we are happy with the conventional trampoline that has brought so many smiles to children across the nation.

If anyone else has had experience with the spring free trampolines and would like to post a comment please feel free to do so.

What’s Happened To Supertramp Trampolines?

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Supertramp Trampolines, the awe inspiring name in the trampoline world. Built and tested in Australia and making their way over to the British Isles over 20 years ago now, supertramp trampolines have been servicing the school and home market for the last few years. Everyone who came into the trampoline world aspired to be them and make trampolines close to their specifications. As a company they were fast efficient and friendly, a detailed unit servicing the market and dedicated themselves to achieving their goals.

Sadly however their trampolines are no longer seen on the market as much nowadays and the company has had to size down. This has been a sad moment for our whole industry and we can only hope that we will see the Supertramp Trampoline brand flying high again in the near future.

Their main brands that dominated the market over the last few years have been the Supertramp Excel Trampolines and the Supertramp Active Trampolines.

The world is obviously in a financial slump at the moment and the trampoline market is bound to take a hit, but we can only hope to see Supertramp back on track and trading across the board again. In the meantime we wait it out and see what the future has to offer.

Trampoline Market Trend

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

What is happening to the trampoline market? A question being asked by every trampoline retailer at the moment. Besides the fact that the general economy of the world is down, there seems to be a definite shift in the market. Retailers are closing their doors and switching off their websites, eBay trend is down, even the google trend is down. Has the trampoline phenomena been and gone, are they just another bygone fashion of society?

We don’t think so, the market is in no doubt down, but not dead. Trampolines have been in our lives for a number of years now and have shaped the way children live nowadays all across the world. Right now there is war on obesity and parents are doing everything they can to keep their children fit and healthy. The best way to do that, exercise. Not just any exercise but fun, outdoor and energetic exercise. That’s why we believe the trampoline will survive, what better way to get the kids out and getting some fresh air and burning off that energy than on the trampoline down at the bottom of the garden with a few friends. Not only does it create a little social centre for them, but it’s a healthy outdoor activity.

Sadly with a number of retailers going the marketplace will shrink, but hopefully it will have a positive effect in the sense of the less people there are the more specialised the market is. We really believe in that philosophy at Etoys. Where your money buys you the best you can afford, good quality trampolines at affordable prices. To long are the days where the fly by night importers were piggy backing the trampoline market and flooding it with low grade units. Now the real traders will be left behind and they can fulfill the demand for quality trampolines.

Only time will tell us where the market is going, but what will never go is the need to be outside and having fun and that’s where our trampolines come in.

Trampoline Display Site

Monday, December 8th, 2008

This last weekend has really been the start of the Christmas Shopping Spree. The world turns upside down as everyone flocks to their favourite outlets to grab their winter bargains. So we thought, it seems though the high street is fast becoming a thing of the past and the shops are turning into advertising outlets for the more price conscious Internet shoppers. This is a sad reality and new generation of Internet has begun, the traditional method of feeling the gifts first hand has changed. I must say though that I’m not totally biased against this new techno wave, being able to order something online without the hordes and that traffic, then being able to deliver it to your doorstep at your convenience is a dream.

There is a fine line though and the balance has to be met. As a Internet based retailer we had a lot of people calling to ask where our showroom is and how they could see the goods. We took this into account and realised that we had to meet the needs of our customers. We have since run a display site at a garden centre retail outlet in Oxfordshire at Millets Farm Centre. On display we have a variety of trampolines, climbing frames and outdoor toys.

Below are a few pictures of the area:

Etoyszone New Site Launch

Friday, December 5th, 2008

The long awaited new website design launch has finally arrived and just in time for Christmas. The new feel allows customers to browse through smoothly and effeciently. Our web design team, Fidelma and Simon have been hard at work behind the scenes trying to get the trampoline website to look and run as smoothly as possible.

Writing a website solely about trampolines is not an easy task, but pulled off well by Fidelma with her university background in design definitely paying off as reflected in her detailed work.Trampolines are a lot more involved than most would think, the design and technology that goes on behind the scenes is surprisingly in depth. Stress and structure testing on the trampoline frames have to be carried out at great lengths to ensure that the trampolines can be used under great stress and still be safe. So you can be reassured that all our trampolines sold on the website are fully safety tested and guaranteed.

We have been the industry for over 10 years now supplying thousands of trampolines all across the UK and have been a market leader and a definitive trampoline specialist company. We proud ourselves in the knowledge that every one of our staff right from the sectary to the warehouse packers and even the sales team surprisingly, are fully trained and expert trampoline enthusiasts who are always available on the phones to answer any of your questions. We hope you enjoy our new website and look forward to your feedback.

How To Store Your Trampoline This Winter:

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

The season is upon us and this reliasation dawned on me in full strength the other morning when my wife politely asked why i had not covered our skyhigh rectangular trampoline at the bottom of the garden yet? After having a look out the window i reliased that she was right, the trampoline was full of frost and should have covered it up weeks ago.

This is generally the tone set for most of us, we lead busy lives and the last thing on minds is the kids trampoline outback. What we don’t reliase though is how much the weather does actually affect them and how we can prolong the life of the trampoline by a number of years by just taking a few minutes of our time to cover it up.

The most convetional method of storing your trampoline for the winter is storing it away in your garage, behind the tent and never to be seen again. This is not neccesary though as the trampolines are designed for the outdoors and can withstand the elements. All you really need to do is put a trampoline cover on it to stop the frost getting to the pads.

That’s all we do, and we’re the experts. Another method is to take the trampoline pads off the trampoline and store them in a dry place for the winter. The frame and the trampoline bed are durable enough to be left outside as is.

You will be presently suprised by just how long your trampoline will last by just following a basic maintenance program every year around about this time. Hopefully this article will be of some help and as always we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
