Trampoline Fitness

Yes there it is the dreaded word, fitness. We all hear about it, especially this time of year. Just the other evening i was driving home listening to the news lady going on about how obese the UK Population  is and how the government has instituted a new program of fitness. It is true though, mankind is being plagued by this new silent disease that creeps in slowly. Including myself it seems as my wife has decided to start us on a trampoline fitness regime.

i have to be honest i wasn’t hugely excited by the idea, being the IT guy who sits and plays with the computers all day. It seems though that my worries were unfounded. It actually has turned out to be great fun and i would recommend it to anyone out there. We have a trampette trampoline each along with a fitness training DVD that goes through the exercise routines. I would recommend taking it slow the first few times, don’t be fooled into thinking that it’s easy. It’s actually quite a regimental routine that works your entire body. Overall it’s great fun though that gives a good work out and it’s something that everyone can do.

Now here’s the fun part, try taking that training to the next level. How about if everyone out there who is pretty comfortable on their trampettes takes it outside this summer. Get yourself a decent trampoline for the family, set it up in a nice sunny and accessible spot and get bouncing. We’ve had great fun on our rectangular trampoline this summer, my wife really took it to the next level with her training and proved to be a great success. Not only was she getting fit and loosing weight, she was outside enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. There’s nothing like it, my advice to all you trampoline fans out there is get your training outdoors this summer.

As always any questions or comments please feel free to ask.

Happy Trampolining..

Is trampolining a better form of cardio exercise than say running or swimming

Hi, Will a trampette give you the same work out as a full size trampoline?

    Thanks, T.

    Hi Tamara

This is an interesting question, i have to say here it depends on the person. I personally feel you get a better full body workout on a decent outdoor trampoline as you work harder to get the same bounce as you would on a trampette. In addition to that you are outdoors getting the fresh air and loads of vitamin D in the sunlight. So overall i would say the answer is dependable on the person and that both types of trampolines will give you a fantastic workout.

    Thanks for the comment.

    Good question Simon,

Answer is yes and no there. It is better than running in the sense of it’s less impactful on the joints and gives a full cardio workout where running can be limited. The trampette trampolines especially are very low impact and generally are more aerobic orientated exercises than full impact exercising like running.

Swimming, I would say no actually. Swimming is still a better form of exercise if a proper routine is followed and breathing excursuses followed.

Overall trampolining is a all round cardio workout that benefits people of all ages and gives a fantastic all round workout to the user. As with anything though, strict procedures have to be followed if you are to benefit from using the equipment.

    Hope that answers your question..

    Thanks for posting..

    Hi Sam

If you are looking for something to train on and you have no issues in regards to size we always recommend the 10x17ft Skyhigh Trampoline. That trampoline is at competition level and can be used to either train or pure recreational use. The joy with that trampoline is that you can have multiple bouncers at ony one time as well. Have a look and let me know what your thoughts are?
