Wow, now that is a phrase that no one wanted to hearing during winter with the current economic climate. Strange things happen in the outdoor toy industry and a lot of people run fairly small sized business in this sector as the market for it is very seasonal. Because of that fact a lot of people don’t have warehousing and mostly trade over the Internet. Now something has happened to the outdoor toy market that has never happened before, people panicked dumped their stocks and now are crying crocodile tears. We are in for a scorching summer and everyone has bought in stock in line with their disaster forecasts meaning there’s not enough stock in the country.
What does that mean for the average consumer though? Well in general that means the supply pool has suddenly shrunk and people will notice that retail prices are a lot more stable. Later on in the year price will mean nothing really, it will be a question of who has the stock. Fortunately we are a cash rich company and we have the ability to bring in large quantities of stock. Meaning that we will have the stocks. Yes! We have stock, trampolines, swimming pools, trampoline accessories and garden games. People have been going crazy in the trampoline market as suppliers have dropped out. Over the last few months a few very large suppliers into the UK have gone bust and have bought to little stock meaning that some of the large brand items will not be available this summer.
Is brand everything though?
- Well we say no. We retail a large range of own brand trampolines that are in many cases better than top spec trampolines on the market and a few hundred quid cheaper. The reviews are great and everyone that’s bought one last year is kitting them up with fun accessories this year.
