As any parental guidance book will frequently state, it’s fundamental that child or children undertake regular sessions of exercise to help them develop both mentally and physically.
Having said this, I understand that it’s not always easy, especially when your child possesses a games console, hatred towards competitive sport or an addiction to television. The local park is always an option, but with more and more kidnapping incidents making the news, it’s not always a viable alternative.
Having a trampoline in your garden is a reliable, long-term solution to your parental problems, enticing your children to undertake more physical activity and also giving you more time to relax. With a fitted safety enclosure, a trampoline can help to safely build confidence and get your child more involved in sport. Trampolining can also help you to develop in other sports, bouncing strengthens your leg muscles, helping to improve running skills and stamina.

Although the title of this blog entry may suggest that we’re offering suggestions on how you can damage, or destroy your trampoline, in actual fact we’re advising you on the prevention of damage being done to your trampoline.
There are numerous ways of damaging trampolines, some common, some not so common, but this article will help you maintain your trampoline and also reduce the likelihood of injury to the user.
Some of the most common ways trampolines are damaged:
Exceeding the weight limit:
Exceeding the weight limit can be done in two ways; by having more than one person on the trampoline at one time, or having an older or heavier person bounce on a small trampoline intended for children. Both of these methods will damage your trampoline whether it’s straight away or some time afterwards, the trampoline will be damaged and in most cases cause some kind of injury. It’s easy to prevent this form of damage from happening, simply don’t allow more than one person to bounce on a trampoline that is unable to withstand the weight, and use a trampoline that is designed to take the weight, Simple!
Insufficient protection against bad weather and through the winter:
Protecting a trampoline against weather is both easy and cost effective. A trampoline cover is available for a fraction of the price of a trampoline and without it, you could easily find yourself having to buy a new one.
Wearing shoes whilst bouncing:
It’s a commonly known fact that you shouldn’t bounce on a trampoline with shoes on, and it is also frequently stated in most manuals, so why do people do it? Who knows, but they do! To avoid damage from this, simply don’t wear shoes when bouncing!
Incorrect assembly:
It is fundamental that when a trampoline is assembled it is carried out safely and correctly, as otherwise, the user could face serious injury. To prevent this from happening you can either do the obvious thing which is to read the instruction manual fully, or alternatively you can ask the retailer to assemble the trampoline for you, although this does usually comes with a charge.
Placing the trampoline on a steep hill:
It’s important that trampolines are assembled in a suitable location as it may affect the stability of the trampoline, and also put the user at risk of serious injury. To ensure that this doesn’t happen, simply place the trampoline on level ground, and make sure that this type of land is available before buying the trampoline.

With the gloomy winter months drawing ever closer now is a good time to start thinking about how you are going to protect your trampoline.
Bad weather can have a significant impact on the performance and safety of your trampoline, and when you’ve spent a small fortune buying the right one, leaving it unprotected through the winter wouldn’t be a good idea! If, like a lot of us, you don’t have space to store an unassembled trampoline indoors, then there are a few things you can do to ensure that your trampoline is still at its best when the winter period is over.
The first thing you can do and the most obvious option is to buy a trampoline cover; this protects the trampoline’s pads, bed and springs. Alternatively, you could remove the bed, springs and pads and store them indoors, although you are running the risk of condemning the frame of your trampoline to rust. Another option is installing a trampoline tent; this can not only protect the trampoline itself but also offers an enclosed space for children to play in or storage.

I came accross this video recently and very quickly found myself laughing my head off, and this isn’t usually the kind of thing that I find funny!
The trampoline may not share the same ‘appeal’ as some of the new, all absorbing games consoles currently on the market, but it offers users so much more than just graphics and online gaming.
Much like a dog, the trampoline isn’t just for Christmas, or any celebratory event in fact, it’s for life, and it can help you or your child to live your life to the full. Most sports contain an element of competitiveness, which some people find too much to bear, and instead of seeking alternatives, succumb to a life without physical activity and in some cases obesity.
This is where the trampoline comes in! A trampoline is both fun and a form of intense exercise that can significantly build muscles and burn fat. It’s also very fun and can be done as an individual activity, eliminating the competition characteristic.
Children and young adults who have adopted the trampoline as a method of losing weight or keeping fit have significantly benefitted from doing so, not only physically, but mentally. Sometimes for a self-conscious, unhappy person confidence is a hard thing to find, and a trampoline can help to build morale and fitness at the same time, leaving your child in much better shape all round as a result of this fun and beneficial piece of apparatus.

Today we received an email in the customer service dept that I had to just share with everyone out there as this is a typical situation where a person has obviously over loaded the trampoline with total disregard for the specified weight limit and the trampoline frame was seriously damaged. This trampoline was purchased from a stock clearance warehouse and not from us. Attached are a few photos of the damage, you may be wondering why I’m posting something that could potentially be bad publicity for trampolines, but in reality though this message is a serious message that needs to be put across to the public. Trampolines are “SAFE” until abused. I’m going to outline exactly what happened in this case and how this can be avoided by using your trampoline safely.
- Firstly the trampoline’s weights are a guide line, not to say that a kg over the specified weight will damage the trampoline but for best use try and stay within the guide lines. Generally the smaller the springs the lower the weight limit on the trampoline. Trampolines from well known outlets like Argos and B&Q are generally quite cheap but have very low weight limits.
- Secondly when purchasing new trampoline accessories make sure they are the right size and specification to your trampoline. For example the trampoline that we are talking about today is a 14ft trampoline that has 96 springs, the same amount of springs as our budget trampoline has, so in theory a replacement bed that we sell on our site would fit. What the customer didn’t check is what size her springs are. Her springs were considerably smaller than ours which would make her bed that she had bigger than the one she received from us, making the bed tauter than the manufacturer’s guideline.
- Thirdly the customer continued putting on the trampoline bed when the springs were over stretched, springs were also placed to close together not evenly space around the trampoline. We also recommend picturing the trampoline surface like a clock face and fitting the springs at regular intervals such as 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock.
These steps unfortunately lead to the trampolines untimely death. I have never personally seen damage to a trampoline like this, the pole snapped in half! Unfortunately the customer was not able to get the trampoline replaced under warranty as the retailer stated that the trampoline had been abused and refused the help the customer. This would not have happened if she did not choose to buy a cheap trampoline from a clearance site. When choosing your trampoline for your children you are choosing your Child’s safety which can never be compromised by impulse bought cheap trampolines and try going to a trampoline specialist such as us. I hope this helps and please choose wisely.
Happy trampolining.

I thought i would just jot down a quick post regarding reviews. We live in such a brand dominated market that it has become normal for us to associate quality against names in most cases. It has also changed the way we buy on the net, if we don’t see that brand name on a number of different websites we think that the quality is not up to spec. Is this true though? Well in most cases yes, but there is a factor of generic brands that are on the trampoline market especially. Generally most trampolines come from the same group of factory’s, sometimes you have one factory producing branded and non branded goods. Both are high quality units, but there is a definitive price difference. Now the point of this whole blog, with brand conscious people on the market we have recognised a need to have a definitive website that offers non biased reviews of trampolines currently being retailed. The website is:
